Bethel's Children's and Youth Ministries Exist to Equip Young People for Godly Living!
We believe this equipping is done in the context of.....
Children are precious to Jesus Christ! Our children's ministry at Bethel Baptist Church exists to glorify God (Isa. 43:7; Rom. 15:5-6). The goal is to be like Jesus (Rom. 8:29; 1 Pet. 2:21).
Glorifying God occurs when people put His character or attributes on display, such as love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, justice, holiness and goodness.
First, to glorify God we are committed to teaching the Word of God in order to change lives (Rom. 10:17; 2 Tim. 3:14-15). Secondly, we are committed to promote and encourage an atmosphere of caring within every ministry .
Children Kindergarten – 3rd grade will join us for the first part of the Sunday Worship Service and will be dismissed to their teachers at the back of the sanctuary before the sermon. You may sign in your child before the service begins at the back table.

YOUTH GROUP -- Wednesday Night Bible Study for Teenagers
A typical Wednesday evening will consist of fellowship through fun games, contemporary worship through excellent music, a compelling challenge from God’s word directed to the teens where they are at, and a small group time where the students will be guided to apply God’s word by their discipleship leader.
Please feel free to drop in on Wednesday night, or call Andy Baljet at the church office at (661) 943-2280 for more information.
What is AWANA? AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, a concept from 2 Timothy 2:15. The AWANA clubs are a worldwide program to help churches and parents raise children and youth to know, love, and serve Christ! A local AWANA club is available in Lancaster, CA at Bethel Baptist Church. See below for age group info.
When to Meet? Each Wednesday night from 6:30pm - 8:30pm throughout the school year.
What to Expect? The typical meeting consists of opening ceremony, game time, handbook time, and council time. Every clubber takes part in all activities unless they have a note from a parent. Pants or jeans are recommended for game time that consists of a variety of games played in the gym. Handbook time includes scripture memorization, fun activities and discovery of new things. AWANA 'bucks' are earned for sections completed and may be redeemed at the AWANA store. Council time is group instruction in a classroom setting. Special nights and/or special activities may cause the typical structured meeting to be modified.Children 2 years old through 6th grade may participate. The club is divided into different age groups, so kids can hang out with those at/near the same age. Clubbers may arrive no more than 30 minutes prior to club and should be picked up no more than 15 minutes after club.
Is there a Fee? Bethel Baptist Church AWANA program has dues of $60.00 per child that covers handbooks, uniforms and awards. In addition clubbers are given the opportunity to help our Adopt-a-Club in Brazil that provides financial assistance to the adopted club. In the Spring we have a penny drive for a missions project. No child will ever be turned away because they cannot affort dues.
Puggles® recognizes the learning ability of 2- and 3-year olds by introducing biblical precepts at church and equipping parents to teach them at home. Toddlers love having their very own Awana club just like their older siblings.
In Puggles, children are welcomed each week with play time, songs and simple crafts and activities. Leaders present age-appropriate lessons using large, colorful teaching cards, finger puppet plays and more. Lessons teach and reinforce four basic biblical precepts:
• God Made Everything
• God Saw That It Was Good
• God is Love
• Give Thanks
Special take-home cards that correspond to each week's lesson help parents nurture their child's faith at home. Participating in Puggles will give your child a head start on the path to loving and following God for life.
Cubbies® celebrates the spiritual potential of preschoolers (3- to 5-year olds) by helping them develop respect for God, His Son and His Word.
Preschoolers can hardly wait for their next Cubbies club meeting. Whether it's the fun puppets, the exciting games or all their "Cubbies friends," they simply love it. At Story Time each week, preschoolers learn about God – the greatness of His love and His Word – and about His Son, Jesus Christ, the promised Savior. Non-competitive games build excitement and reinforce Story Time lesson themes.
Cubbies helps you lead your child to God early so she will respect and trust Him for life.
Sparks® ignites the curiosity of early elementary-age kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ.
To many children in kindergarten to second grade, Sparks is the highlight of the week! They love their red vests, the exciting games and spending time with leaders and friends.
Sparks is divided into three years, each with a unique rank: HangGlider®, WingRunner® and SkyStormer™. Each year, Sparks clubbers:
• explore the biographies of people of the Bible from a new portion of Scripture
• memorize Bible verses
• complete handbook activities
The handbooks, combined with Large Group Time lessons from the WHO Do I Need to Know From the Bible series, take your child on a journey through the entire Bible!
T&T engages third- through sixth-graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in Christ's grace.
Handbooks and large-group lessons deepen a child's knowledge about God and His Word and teach how to put that knowledge into action in everyday life.
T&T is different from other Awana programs. It is comprised of two clubs with distinct curriculum, uniforms and awards:
•T&T Ultimate Adventure™ for third and fourth grades
•T&T Ultimate Challenge™ for fifth and sixth grades
The two clubs are designed to help kids stay plugged into T&T as they move into the preteen years and continue growing in their relationship with Christ.
